Our Mission

           At Yakyakrack, we have made it our dedication to provide the community with storage and furnishing pieces that satisfy rational storage practicality whilst also exerting a kick of decorative niche. All of our products are built from lumber harvested in Northern Michigan (specifically white and red cedar), which are all assembled using the timeless Mortise and tenon technique. Contemporary archeologists believe that Mortis and tenon may date all the way back to the ancient-Egyptians whom used it to build the hulls of Nile boats with. One could refer to the jointery as "outdated"; however, we believe the bonding catalyst could rather be defined as "timeless" considering its affiliation to modernity: dining room tables, chairs, couches, benches, barns, houses, etc. In an age of consumerism, sometimes adding a touch of “back to nature" to our post-capitalist lifestyles can help remind us of our past, and the memories we have made on the long, dwindling road to our present.
